BARDOSENETICCUBE & NOISES OF RUSSIA

"New Orthodox Line"

Some Place Else - 2007

CD

"New Orthodox Line" is a collaboration between Bardoseneticcube and Noises Of Russia, two of the many groups dwelling in the rich Russian experimental and noise scene. Two different approaches melt and integrate themselves into a powerful, over 36 minutes track that leads the listener through a post-industrial nightmare of loud factory noises, looped Gregorian chants, frightening ectoplasms and obtruding dissonances. Noises Of Russia provide their arsenal of electronic distortions and aggressive frequencies, while Bardoseneticcube unleash their ghostly sceneries and haunted dark ambient canvases.

If you're familiar with both these Russians bands, it will be certainly interesting to listen to their combined efforts. Otherwise, although being a well-conceived and technically perfect noise CD, "New Orthodox Line" doesn't seem to offer anything significantly different from many other releases of the same area. The scene would seriously need an injection of new lymph to avoid the repetitivity and creative shortness it has fallen into.
