THE MOON AND THE NIGHTSPIRIT
"Regõ Rejtem"
Equilibrium Music - 2007
CD
"Regõ Rejtem" is the second album of Hungarian folk duo The Moon And The Nightspirit, featuring lyrics in Hungarian differently from their debut, where most of the songs were sung in English. This choice gives the album a distinctive essence in direction of Hungarian folklore and adds personality to their musical inspiration, showing more various sounds if compared to "Of Dreams Forgotten And Fables Untold".
All 9 tracks show a very rich instrumentation: violins, guitars, flutes, percussions and many ancients instruments such as kaval, tapan harps and so on, adding a more ethnic and ancient feelings to their music. The ethereal and intense voice of Agnes (who also personally designed the very good fantasy artwork of the CD) perfectly harmonize with the rest of the music and contributes to create a mystical, pagan atmosphere.
From the opening
track that brings the album’s name, the folk music of The Moon And The
Nightspirit transcends geographical boundaries, and brings about a remembrance
of things past and the alternation between faster and slower songs adds freshness
and makes the entire work very interesting.
Other remarkable songs are: "Örökké", "Rögbõl
Élet".
